Special Review: Kingdom of the Crystal Skull Score - 06/23/08

Indy is back! Full review - 05/22/08

Indy is back, finally, with Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. So yeah, I guess this is it with the updates. The movie is here, I have seen it, and well... it's great!

Wanna know my humble opinion? Then read my review right here. It might not be a new Raiders but, for my money, Skull is a great Indy movie and a really fine adventure flick.

News galore! - 04/16/08

This week there have been tons of news and stuff regarding Indy 4, and since there so much material, I'll just briefly sum up each of the news, providing with the links to the original stories:

140 minutes!

Listening to John Williams discuss finishing his work on Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull on a YouTube video at 01:22 into the clip he says he finished work on the seventh reel and that each reel is about 20 minutes. This obviously sums up to 140 minutes... looks like Kingdom... will be the longest Indy movie to date!

Original news found at: Harrison Ford Web

Indy will succeed without Sean

From Contactmusic.com we have this mention of Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull being "Connery-free" and how that will change the movie. According to Ford, "We don't need Sean. I'm old enough to play my own father."

Thanks to theraider.net for the news!

More Kingdom of the Crystal Skull Photos

I'm too lazy to upload them, and since they're nothing to get excited about - even though they're "coolish" - just check the original article at theraider.net.

So yeah, there had been tons of news, most of them really exciting. The fact that the movie is gonna be long doesn't worry; I dont't think one can get too much Indy. Now, there are also rumours circulating the web that the film's a stinker and that Shia's the "next Jar Jar Binks." Well, what do you know, there will always be haters, and I don't think we can judge the film until we see it.

I can't wait to see the friggin' film!!!

Indy IV Photos and details stolen - 10/06/07

The Los Angeles Times reported that Computers and photographs for director Steven Spielberg's upcoming Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull were recently stolen.

Stark declined to say where and when the theft took place. Officials from the Los Angeles Police Department, the FBI and the Sheriff's Department could not immediately confirm that they were investigating.

Marvin Levy, Spielberg's spokesman, said the director was concerned that the thieves might be trying to sell the materials.

And then I’ll be home in California the first of October to start on the next Indiana Jones."

The Other Paper: Are you just going to incorporate music from the earlier movies, or are you writing any new melodies?
Williams: "I’ll be able to tell you in about two weeks."

Head over to The Other Paper and find out how it comes a most successful film composer like John Williams never goes to the movies and rarely listens to classical music.

Virginia Madsen denies playing Mrs. Jones in Indy IV - 06/05/06

When Madsen was in New York to do press for Garrison Keiller's A Prairie Home Companion ComingSoon.net had a chance to ask the actress about playing a character in Indy IV.

"I so hope it's true, but no, we never really talked about that. I talked to Harrison about it, as a fan."

Virginia Madsen is good in anything she does and she would certainly make a good leading lady in the fourth Indiana Jones film. But, for the moment, it looks like it might not happen.

Go to ComingSoon.net to read the full report.

Indy IV script finished! - 05/13/06

MTV had a chat with George Lucas who says the script for Indiana Jones 4 is finally done! And he added that the film won't be any louder, bigger or faster than the previous 3 films.

"I think Tom Cruise proved that people are getting bored with that kind of stuff," Lucas said Monday at a Jazz at Lincoln Center dinner celebrating Time magazine's list of the 100 most influential people. "What they want to see is something different. And Indiana Jones, if nothing else, is always different."

Looks good, but Lucas still remains quite vague. He only said that the script is finished and that they'll "probably" start shooting next year. Oh well, at least the screenplay is finished, which confirms that the movie will definitely happen.

At the end of the great interview Jonathan asked Ford how much of a chance there was of another Indiana Jones film.

Harrison Ford stalled his answer for a few seconds and then responded that it was "99 and three quarter percent." likely to happen.

Nothing concrete, for the moment, but a "99.75%" of probabilites sounds pretty good. It's good news, really, we just have to hope that it's true. Click here to read the entire article.

David Koepp will work on the Indy IV script - 03/08/06

Spielberg has hired yet another writer to work on the Indy IV script. His close friend/writer David Koepp will be taking over Jeff Nathanson's job and hopefully finish the script for good.

I have David Koepp on it now, and he’s my 'closer,' Spielberg said, using a baseball reference to the pitcher who comes in during the 9th inning and finishes up a winning ball game.

Well, looks like the script wasn't totally satisfying, but Koepp will  hopefully make it as good as it can be. Thanks to theraider.net for these news.

We're all hoping. We have our fingers crossed. There's a script that's been done. We just need to get the buy-off of three very independent men: Harrison Ford, Steven Speilberg and George Lucas. Ford talks about Indiana Jones IV with AP - 02/07/06

The AP ran an interview with Harrison Ford where he spoke about various projects including his upcoming film Manhunt and of course Indiana Jones 4. Here's a quote from the interview:

Virginia Madsen to have a role in Indy IV? - 02/03/06

Turns out that actress Virginia Madsen impressed Harrison Ford in his new film Firewall (where Madsen plays Ford's wife) so much that he is now saying that she could appear in Indy IV. Contact Music posted quotes from Harrison Ford where he talked about this:

She was an absolute delight - professional, very talented and simply, very sweet. She also took what could have been a fairly one-dimensional damsel in distress role and added so many layers to it - there isn't many who could do that. I'd work with her again in a heartbeat. I'm actually hoping she'll come over for Indiana Jones. We've talked about it.

Could Virginia Madsen be the next "Indy girl"? Well, nothing is official, for the moment, but it's interesting to see a new name behind the "Indy IV" title besides Harrison Ford. Thanks to The Indy Experience for the news.

Ford's Indy IV MTV.com Quote - 02/02/06

MTV.com posted another quote coming from Harrison Ford about the fourth Indiana Jones film. Here's what they wrote about it:

The world has waited 17 years now for another Indiana Jones movie but, according to Harrison Ford, we'll have to keep waiting until they get the script right. The deal is that the Internet is full of information, he grinned, implying that much of it is wrong. We have an ambition to make [Indiana Jones 4], we have a possible time to make it and we have a script that is undergoing some revisions. That's as much as I can say at the moment.

Harrison Ford and his age - 01/30/06

Even though the anticipation for the new Indy film grows more and more as the time passes, there is also more concern that the leading man may not be physically ready for the role.

The 63-year-old actor is frank about his age and doesn't hesitate to point out that he's as physically fit as ever.

I can't tell you anything about 'Indiana Jones,' but I think you've just seen a film in which I perform physically to an extent [that will be] sufficient for 'Indiana Jones', he told ComingSoon.net.

When should it be finished? - 01/19/06

MTV.com has posted an update on Indiana Jones IV today. Here follows George Lucas' latest comment on the Indy IV script:

We just keep working on it. You know, we just write and write and write and write and write. But we are getting closer, and hopefully this year we will have a start date and we will have a script that we all love and hopefully it will come out next year.

It's nothing new, really, but Lucas and Ford sound a little more confident on this movie. It may be possible that Indiana Jones IV starts production in about a year... finally.

Click here to read the full article.

In a similar news, Harrison Ford has given Steven Spielberg and George Lucas a two-year period to make Indy IV. IMDB mentions that Ford is keen on making the movie, but that they should hurry.
