News galore! - 04/16/08
This week there have been
tons of news and stuff regarding Indy 4, and since there so much
material, I'll just briefly sum up each of the news, providing with the
links to the original stories:
140 minutes!
Listening to John Williams discuss finishing his work
on Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull on a
YouTube video at 01:22 into the clip he says he finished work on the
seventh reel and that each reel is about 20 minutes. This obviously sums
up to 140 minutes... looks like Kingdom... will be the longest
Indy movie to date!
Original
news found at:
Harrison Ford
Web
Indy
will succeed without Sean
From
Contactmusic.com we have this mention of Indiana Jones and the
Kingdom of the Crystal Skull being "Connery-free" and how that will
change the movie. According to Ford, "We don't need Sean. I'm old enough
to play my own father."
Thanks

More
Kingdom of the Crystal Skull Photos
I'm too
lazy to upload them, and since they're nothing to get excited about -
even though they're "coolish" - just check the original article at
theraider.net.
So yeah,
there had been tons of news, most of them really exciting. The fact that
the movie is gonna be long doesn't worry; I dont't think one can get
too much Indy. Now, there are also rumours circulating the web that
the film's a stinker and that Shia's the "next Jar Jar Binks." Well,
what do you know, there will always be haters, and I don't think we can
judge the film until we see it.
I can't
wait to see the friggin' film!!!

Indy IV
Photos and details stolen - 10/06/07
The
Los Angeles Times reported that Computers and photographs for director
Steven Spielberg's upcoming Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal
Skull were recently stolen.
DreamWorks Pictures SKG
has asked local law enforcement to investigate, a studio spokeswoman
said.
"An investigation is being conducted by law enforcement," said Kristin
Stark, a spokeswoman for DreamWorks.
Stark declined to say where and when the theft took place. Officials
from the Los Angeles Police Department, the FBI and the Sheriff's
Department could not immediately confirm that they were investigating.
Marvin Levy, Spielberg's
spokesman, said the director was concerned that the thieves might be
trying to sell the materials.
And that's exactly what the
thief started to do. He had send emails to multiple entertainment websites
and offering the stolen goods for a sum of $2000.
IESB.Net published more detailed info on the theft and the investigation
that lead to the capture of the thief earlier today

Crystal Skull next month!

What’s the current project you’re working on?
Williams: "Well, I just actually put pen down on a viola concerto.
And I will be doing a week for the New York Philharmonic here, and then
I’ll be coming out to Columbus for one day and I’ll be looking forward
to meeting the orchestra. I think they’ll be great. And then I’ll be
home in California the first of October to start on the next Indiana
Jones."
The Other Paper:
Are you just going to incorporate music from the earlier movies, or are
you writing any new melodies?
Williams: "I’ll be able to tell you in about two weeks."

years spent in script development, the fourth installment of the successful
Indiana Jones franchise is set to begin production in June in locations

Harrison Ford says he feels "fit to
continue" - 10/23/06
Harrison Ford said at the Rome Film
Festival on Friday that he was delighted to team up again with directors
Steven Spielberg and George Lucas for the film.
"We did three films that stay
within the same block of time. We need to move on for artistic reasons
and obvious physical reasons," Ford said
at a news conference. "I feel fit to continue and bring the same
physical action."
Looks like the film could happen after
all, although, like in the past few years, there are really no official news
about the filming or production of the movie.

Comingsoon.net has posted some news about Lucasfilm, Jurassic Park IV,
and of course, Indy IV, although they're not as good as some fans would have
wanted.
"Steve
(Spielberg) and I are still working away, trying to come up with

Indy IV script will be
ready in a few months - 06/23/06
Today's
Hollywood Reporter has an article on all the projects that CEO Stacey
Snider is working on at DreamWorks Pictures.
The article provides tidbit of
an update on what's happening with the Indian Jones 4 script.
Hollywood Reporter reports that 'Snider's current task will be finding
the next picture Spielberg directs. There are several projects on the
drawing board, including an Abraham Lincoln biopic, an untitled space travel
project at Paramount and a script by Rod Lurie set in the glitzy New York
media world as well as Indiana Jones 4, which Paramount would co-finance
with George Lucas' Lucasfilm. David Koepp's script is expected in two to
three months.

Lucas wants
Sean Connery in Indy IV! - 06/10/06

Access Hollywood that he is pushing to get Sean Connery to appear
in Indiana Jones 4, in which Lucas is an executive producer.
"I would love
him to be in the next 'Indiana Jones'... maybe I can push him into it,"
said Lucas.
When asked if he knew whether or not Connery wanted to appear in the
film, Lucas said, "I think he does."
Lucas jokingly added, "We are writing him in whether he wants to do it
or not."

Virginia
Madsen denies playing Mrs. Jones in Indy IV - 06/05/06
When Madsen was in New
York to do press for Garrison Keiller's A Prairie Home Companion
ComingSoon.net had a chance to ask the actress about playing a
character in Indy IV.
"I so hope it's
true, but no, we never really talked about that. I talked to Harrison
about it, as a fan."
Virginia Madsen is
good in anything she does and she would certainly make a good leading lady
in the fourth Indiana Jones film. But, for
the moment, it looks like it might not happen.

Indy IV script finished!
- 05/13/06
MTV had a chat with George Lucas who says the script for
Indiana Jones 4 is finally done! And he added that the film won't
be any louder, bigger or faster than the previous 3 films.
"I think Tom Cruise
proved that people are getting bored with that kind of stuff," Lucas
said Monday at a Jazz at Lincoln Center dinner celebrating Time
magazine's list of the 100 most influential people. "What they want to
see is something different. And Indiana Jones, if nothing else, is
always different."
Looks good, but Lucas still
remains quite vague. He only said that the script is finished and that
they'll "probably" start shooting next year. Oh well, at least the screenplay
is finished, which confirms that the movie will definitely happen.

David Koepp will work on the
Indy IV script - 03/08/06
Spielberg has hired yet another
writer to work on the Indy IV script. His close friend/writer
David Koepp will be taking over Jeff Nathanson's job and hopefully finish
the script for good.
I have David Koepp on it now,
and he’s my 'closer,' Spielberg said, using a baseball reference to the
pitcher who comes in during the 9th inning and finishes up a winning ball
game.
Well, looks like the script
wasn't totally satisfying, but Koepp will hopefully make it as good as
it can be. Thanks to

Virginia Madsen to have a
role in Indy IV? - 02/03/06
Turns out that actress
Virginia Madsen impressed Harrison Ford in his new film Firewall (where
Madsen plays Ford's wife) so much that he is now saying that she could
appear in Indy IV.
Contact Music posted quotes
from Harrison Ford where he talked about
this:
She was an
absolute delight - professional, very talented and simply, very sweet.
She also took what could have been a fairly one-dimensional damsel in
distress role and added so many layers to it - there isn't many who
could do that. I'd work with her again in a heartbeat. I'm actually
hoping she'll come over for Indiana Jones. We've talked about it.
Could Virginia Madsen be the
next "Indy girl"? Well, nothing is official, for the moment, but it's
interesting to see a new name behind the "Indy IV" title besides Harrison
Ford. Thanks to The Indy
Experience for the news.
Ford's Indy IV MTV.com Quote
- 02/02/06
MTV.com posted another quote coming from Harrison Ford about the
fourth Indiana Jones film. Here's what they wrote about it:
The world has
waited 17 years now for another Indiana Jones movie but, according to
Harrison Ford, we'll have to keep waiting until they get the script
right. The deal is that the Internet is full of information, he
grinned, implying that much of it is wrong. We have an ambition to
make [Indiana Jones 4], we have a possible time to make
it and we have a script that is undergoing some revisions. That's as
much as I can say at the moment.

Ford says Indy IV is "on the

Harrison Ford was
guest at the Tonight
Show with Jay Leno this Tuesday promoting his latest thriller
Firewall. At
one moment Leno asked Ford if he will do another Indiana Jones. Harrison
answered as follows:
LENO:
Will you do another Indiana Jones?
(5 seconds silence)
FORD: "yes... it's on the front burner".

Harrison Ford and his age -
01/30/06
Even though the
anticipation for the new Indy film grows more and more as the time passes,
there is also more concern that the leading man may not be physically ready
for the role.
The 63-year-old
actor
is frank about his age and doesn't hesitate to point out that he's as
physically fit as ever.
I can't tell
you anything about 'Indiana Jones,' but I think you've just seen a film
in which I perform physically to an extent [that will be] sufficient for
'Indiana Jones', he told
ComingSoon.net.
When should it be finished?
- 01/19/06
MTV.com has posted an update on
Indiana Jones IV today. Here follows George Lucas' latest comment
on the Indy IV script:
We just keep
working on it. You know, we just write and write and write and write and
write. But we are getting closer, and hopefully this year we will have a
start date and we will have a script that we all love and hopefully it
will come out next year.
It's nothing new, really, but
Lucas and Ford sound a little more confident on this movie. It may be
possible that Indiana Jones IV starts production in about a year... finally.

In a similar news, Harrison
Ford has given Steven Spielberg and George Lucas a two-year period to make
Indy IV. IMDB mentions that
Ford is keen on making the movie, but that they should hurry.
It's looking
very good to do another one. I haven't felt this positive about it
happening in a long time... but if it doesn't happen in the next two
years we should all forget it.

Lucas is tweaking
Nathanson's Indy IV script - 12/10/05
FOXNews.com reported that George Lucas went to New York on the
5th of December only to attend the blockbuster premiere of today's hottest
adventure film King Kong. Lucas just woke up one Monday
morning and said, "Let's go to New York for Peter Jackson and King
Kong." But that's not what this news message really is about.
Lucas mentioned to
FOXNews in the 5th of December that he is now devoting himself
full-time to writing and producing Indiana Jones IV:
"Lucas told me that he's
got a script now from Jeff Nathanson, and he's tweaking it. That won't
go on forever, he assured me, and filming will occur before Harrison
Ford goes into a nursing home."

Producer Frank Marshall talks
Indiana Jones 4 - 11/18/03
Producer
Frank Marshall has been speaking with
UGO about Indy 4.
"It’s going to
totally be in the style and the tone of the first three. I mean, were not going
to do anything different. We’re not going to try and change things or modernize
things. We’re going to stick to what works, and we’re probably going to be in
the fifties. So, we’re acknowledging that we’re all a bit older and that’s about
all I can tell you except that Frank Darabont is writing it."
